SUBJECT: Temporary 3.2 Percent Malt Liquor Licenses - Shakopee Jaycees
DATE: June 25, 2003
INTRODUCTION:
The Shakopee Jaycees have made applications for a temporary on-sale 3.2 percent malt
liquor license for a softball tournament at Tahpah Park on July 19-20, 2003 and for Derby
Days on August 1-2,2003.
The applications are in order and the certificates of insurance are on order.
I have been in contact with the Deputy Chief of Police regarding the applications. He
recommends approval of the licenses with sales to cease at 11 :00 p.m. for Derby Days.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Move to approve the applications and grant temporary on-sale 3.2 percent malt liquor
licenses to the Shakopee Jaycees, Inc., for the municipal parking lot at 2nd A venue and
Lewis Street, August 1 and 2, 2003, with sales to cease at II :00 p.m., and for the
designated beer garden adjacent to the concession stand at Tahpah Park, July 19 and 20,
2003, conditioned upon meeting all requirements of the City Code.
