SUBJECT: Apportionment of Special Assessments
for Lot 1, Block 3, Boulder Ridge

INTRODUCTION:
City Council is asked to consider adopting the attached Resolution No. 5942, which apportions
existing special assessments against a newly created parcels located within Boulder Ridge as a
result of a Minor Subdivision.
BACKGROUND:
Prior to the approval of a Minor Subdivision of Lot 1, Block 3, Boulder Ridge, there were existing
special assessments against it for the construction of Vierling Drive from C.R. 79 to C.R. 17, Project
No. 1992-3 and for Vierling Drive from Sage Lane to Miller Street, Project No. 1998-2. Now that
the Minor Subdivision of Lot 1, Block 3, Boulder Ridge, has occurred, it is necessary to apportion
these assessments against the two new resultant parcels, Resolution No. 5942 apportions the
existing special assessments against the newly created parcels.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Offer Resolution No. 5942, A Resolution Apportioning Assessments As A Result Of The Minor
Subdivision of Lot 1, Block 3, Boulder Ridge, and move its adoption.

A RESOLUTION APPORTIONING ASSESSMENTS
AS A RESULT OF THE MINOR SUBDIVISION
OF LOT 1, BLOCK 3, BOULDER RIDGE
WHEREAS, on November 17, 1992, Resolution No. 3705 adopted by the City Council
levied assessments against properties benefited by the construction of Vierling Drive, from C,R.
79 to C.R. 17, Project No. 1992-3; and
WHEREAS, on March 16, 1999, Resolution No, 5078 adopted by the City Council levied
assessments against properties benefited by the construction of Vierling Drive, from Sage Lane
to Miller Street, Project No. 1998-2; and
WHEREAS, a parcel known as parcel number 27-237004-0 benefited by the said
improvements, and has been subdivided; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to apportion the installments remaining
unpaid against parcel number 27-237004-0 because of the Minor Subdivision.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SHAKOPEE, MINNESOTA that the 2003 payable remaining balance of assessments to
parce127~237004-0 (for construction of Vierling Drive, from C.R. 79 to C.R. 17, Project No,
1992-3 and Vierling Drive from Sage Lane to Miller Street, Project No. 1998-2) are hereby
apportioned as outlined in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that all other parts of Resolution No. 3705 and 5078
shall continue in effect.
Adopted in regular session of the City Council of the City of Shako pee, Minnesota, held
this 2nd day of September, 2003,
