APPLICATION DATE: Petition Dated November 3, 2003
Introduction:
Council is asked to set a public hearing for January 20,2004 on the above-named petition.
The request will be brought to the City's Planning Commission for review and
recommendation in December 2003. A copy of the petition is attached for the Council's
information.
Action Requested:
Offer and pass Resolution No. 5974, setting a public hearing for January 20,2004 on the
subject petition for annexation.

RESOLUTION NO. 5974
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SHAKO PEE SETTING A PUBLIC HEARING
TO CONSIDER A PETITION TO ANNEX APPROXIMATELY 42 ACRES OF
LAND GENERALLY LOCATED IN THE SOUTHWEST QUADRANT OF THE
INTERSECTION OF STH 169 AND MARYSTOWN ROAD/CSAH 15
WHEREAS, the City of Shakopee has received a petition dated November 3, 2003
for the annexation of certain lands described above; and
WHEREAS, the City of Shakopee and Jackson Township have adopted an Orderly
Annexation Agreement (OAA), which, along with Minn. Stat. 433.033 set forth the process
for annexation of properties by ordinance; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing with at least 30 days notice to the affected township is
required.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SHAKOPEE, MINNESOTA that a public hearing on the subject petition
will be held before the Shakopee City Council on Tuesday, January 20, 2004.
Adopted in regular session of the City Council of the City of Shakopee, Minnesota held the
18th Day of November 2003.
