Subject: Resignation of Sam Mayberry from the Parks and Recreation
Advisory Board
Sam Mayberry has provided notice of his need to resign from the Parks and Recreation
Advisory Board due to personal reasons. Mr. Mayberry was appointed to the committee
in 2006 and has served admirably during his time. He served as the board Chair in 2008
to his time of resignation.
Mr. Mayberry unselfishly contributed many hours of service as an active and valued
member of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board. City staff would like to extend a
deep appreciation for his civic interest and dedicated service to the community in
advising the City on the parks and recreation services, open spaces and natural
resources that contribute to a high quality of life for the residents of Shakopee.

REQUESTED ACTION:
Accept, with regrets, the resignation of Sam Mayberry from the Parks and Recreation
Advisory Board, thank him for the contributions he has made for the residents of
Shakopee and begin the process to fill the vacant position.
