SUBJECT: Set Public Hearing for Vacation of Easement in Valley Rich First
Addition
MEETING DATE: February 3, 2009
INTRODUCTION
Lloyd's Construction Services has submitted an application for vacation of an easement
located at 1431 Maras Street within Valley Rich First Addition (please see Exhibit A).
Exhibit B indicates the specific location of the easement. The attached Resolution No. 6868
sets a public hearing date to consider the vacation of the easement.
DISCUSSION
The attached resolution sets a public hearing for Tuesday, March 17, 2009. On that date,
comments from staff members and utilities, as well as a recommendation from the Planning
Commission, will be presented to the City Council for consideration. The Planning
Commission will consider the request at its March 5, 2009 meeting.
ACTION REQUESTED
Approve Resolution No.6868, a resolution setting the public hearing date to consider the
vacation of easement in Valley Rich First Addition at 1431 Maras Street.

RESOLUTION NO. 6868
A RESOLUTION SETTING THE PUBLIC HEARING DATE TO CONSIDER THE
VACATION OF EASEMENT WITHIN V ALLEY RICH FIRST ADDITION AT
1431 MARAS STREET
WHEREAS, it has been made to appear to the Shakopee City Council that
easement area located in Valley Rich First Addition at 1431 Maras Street is no longer of
public use or interest; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing must be held before an action to vacate can be taken
and two weeks published and posted notice thereof must be given.
WHEREAS, two weeks published notice will be given in the SHAKOPEE
V ALLEY NEWS and posted notice will be given by posting such notice on the bulletin
board on the main floor ofthe Scott County Courthouse, the bulletin board at:the u.S. Post
Office, the bulletin board at the Shakopee Public Library, and the bulletin board in the
Shakopee City Hall.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SHAKOPEE, MINNESOTA, that a hearing be held in the Council
Chambers on the 17th day of March, 2009, at 7:00 P.M. or thereafter, on the matter of
vacating an easement within Valley Rich First Addition at 1431 Maras Street.
Adopted in session of the City Council of the City of Shakopee,
