SUBJECT: Resignation of Police Records Specialist Tracy Menden & Adoption of
Resolution No. 6800.

Introduction
The City Council is asked to accept the resignation of Tracy Menden from her position as a
Police Records Specialist, effective September 19, 2008, and adopt Resolution No. 6800,
expressing appreciation for her years of service to the City.
Background
Tracy Menden began working for the City in October of 1994. She recently submitted a letter of
resignation to her supervisor.
Relationship to Vision:
Goal F - General Housekeeping.
Recommendation
Staffreconunends that Council accept Ms. Menden's resignation with regret.
Requested Action
The Council is asked to offer a motion to accept, with regret, the resignation of Tracy Menden
from the position of Police Records Specialist, effective September 19, 2008, and to offer
Resolution No. 6800, a resolution of appreciation to Tracy S. Menden, and move its adoption.

A RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION
TO TRACYS. MENDEN
WHEREAS, Tracy Menden began her employment with the City of Shakopee on
October 1, 1994, as a Clerk Typist I with the Shakopee Police Department; and was
subsequently promoted to the positions of Police Records Technician and Police Records
Specialist; and
WHEREAS, in almost fourteen years of employment with the City of Shakopee,
Tracy provided important support to the Shakopee Police Department; and
WHEREAS, Tracy's excellent organizational skills and her attention to detail
contributed to our police department's accurate Criminal Justice Reporting as mandated
by the Federal Bureau of Investigations; and
WHEREAS, Tracy's willingness to embrace new technology and computer
systems made her a very valuable employee; and critical to the successful implementation
of several new software systems; and
WHEREAS, due 'to her kind and generous nature, Tracy often led our police
department's support of community projects for less fortunate citizens; and
WHEREAS, Tracy will leave her position effective September 19, 2008.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SHAKOPEE, MINNESOTA, that it does hereby express its deep
appreciation to Tracy Menden for almost fourteen years of dedicated service to the City
of Shakopee.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council extends its
best wishes for every happiness and success to Tracy in her future endeavors.
Adopted in adjourned regular session of the City Council of the City of Shakopee,
Minnesota held this day of ,2008.
