CITY OF SHAKOPEE Memorandum TO: Mayor and City Council Mark McNeill, City Administrator FROM: Kris Wilson, Assistant City Administrator SUBJECT: Successful Completion of Probationary Period -- Police Officer Cortnie Anderson DATE: August 4, 2008 Introduction The City Council is asked to recognize Police Officer Cortnie Anderson's successful completion of her initial probationary period. Background Cortnie Anderson was hired as a probationary police officer on August 6, 2007 and has now completed the one-year probationary period required of police officers. Chief Hughes is satisfied with Officer Anderson's performance and recommends that she be granted full-time regular status as a Police Officer with the Shakopee Police Department. Recommendation It is recommended that the Council recognize Officer Anderson's successful completion of her initial probationary period and grant her full-time regular status. Relationship to Vision The hiring and retention of qualified individuals to serve as City employees contributes to a vibrant, resilient and stable city (Goal D). Requested Action If it concurs, the Council should offer a motion to grant full-time regular status to Cortnie Anderson as a police officer with the Shakopee Police Department.
