Sunday, September 28
Noon-2:00pm: Parade of antique and new fire trucks
2:00-5 :OOpm: Dinner for all fire personal and guests who participated in the weekend's
events.
The Shakopee Fire Department has received permission from Seagate to use their parking lot
on September 2ih for public parking and the help of Palmer Bus Company with two buses to
transport guests back and forth to the station.
In addition to planning for the celebration, the Department is also making plans to ensure
continuity of emergency response to the community throughout the weekend. All events are
scheduled for Station 1, so Station 2 will be fully operational throughout the weekend.
Additionally, it is proposed that all trucks from Station 1 would be parked on the south side of
Vierling Drive during the day on September 27th to ensure that they can be easily deployed in
response to any calls. Policies are also being put in place to ensure that we have the necessary
personnel to appropriately respond to all calls over the course of the weekend.
BUDGET IMPACT
The Fire Department's 2008 operating budget includes $10,000 for the 12Sth Anniversary
Celebration. Additional funding is being provided by the Shakopee Fire Relief Association
