SUBJECT: Temporary 3.2 Percent Malt Liquor License - Shakopee Jaycees Inc.
DATE: June 25, 2008
INTRODUCTION:
Shakopee Jaycees Inc. has made application for a temporary on-sale 3.2 percent malt
liquor license for Derby Days on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, July 31, August 1 and
2, 2008. Thursday sales will be during the Taste of Shakopee only.
The application and certificate of insurance are in order.
I have been in contact with Captain Tate at the Police Department regarding the
application. He advised that the P. D. has no objections to the granting of the license.
At the Council meeting on June 1 ih, City Council extended the provisions from the 2007
license restriction on the sale of alcohol and approved the sales of 3.2 percent malt liquor
untilll :30 p.m., with the bar being cleared of alcohol by 12:00 a.m. and everyone out of
Huber Park by 1 :00 a.m.

RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Move to approve the application and grant a temporary on-sale 3.2 percent malt liquor
license to the Shakopee Jaycees, Inc., for the fenced in beer garden at Huber Park, on
Thursday, July 31,2008 with sales to cease at 7:00 p.m.; and on Friday and Saturday,
August 1 and 2, 2008, with sales to cease at 11 :30 p.m.
