BACKGROUND: In 2005, City Council approved a formal policy for the inspection and maintenance of the sanitary sewer system. Part of that policy requires the television inspection of sanitary sewer mains every 10 years. Staff is requesting to televise 60,000 linear feet which is 10% of the City's system. Television inspection allows staff to identify any defects such as tree root growth, off-set joints, protruding taps, sags, and cracks which could potentially cause a blockage or collapse in the system. Staff will have all remaining clay sanitary sewer main televised along with areas where current problems exist. Televising the remaining clay pipe will assist engineering in identifying potentia11ining projects. Staff has received three quotes and is requesting council authorization to approve and accept the low quote from Visu-Sewer Clean & Seal, Inc. for the quoted price of $0.38 per linear foot. The total cost for televising 60,000 linear feet is $22.800.00. Vendor Cost Der foot Visu-Sewer Clean & Seal, Inc. $0.38 Hydro- V ac, Inc. $0.385 Pipe Services $0.48 Veit $0.65 ALTERNATIVES: 1.
