INTRODUCTION:
The Shakopee Police Department is seeking council approval to declare the following
items surplus property:
1. Two large plastic children's toy cars
2. One mini-bike
3. Two Razor scooters
4. One punching bag
5. One set of weight lifting equipment
6. Thirteen cameras (film)
7. Eight digital cameras
8.One camera tripod
9. One speed control device
10. One cassette tape player
11. One VCR
12. Twenty-five phone chargers
13. Seventeen cell phones
14. One computer with monitor, keyboard, & mouse
15. Six laptop computers
16. Typewriter IBM
16. Miscellaneous office supplies and equipment
BACKGROUND:
The listed items are no longer used by the Shakopee Police Department. Items that are of
value will be auctioned.

This action supports:
Goal E -Financially strong
Goal F -Housekeeping item.
Strategy 10: Ensure City's fiscal health
ALTERNATIVES
1. Authorize staff to declare the items as surplus property.
2. Do not authorize.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends alternative one.
ACTION REQUESTED:
If Council concurs, they should declare the items as surplus property.
