Introduction: The Shakopee Police Department is seeking Council approval to declare six vehicles as surplus property. Background: A description of the vehicles: 1. 1993 Toyota Tercel, VIN: JT2EL46S6P0346831 2. 1994 Ford Explorer, VIN: 1FMDU34X6RUC94214 3. 2001 GMC Yukon, VIN: 3GKFK16T21G287712 4. 2003 Chevrolet Impala, VIN: 2G1WF52E839384935 5. 2004 Mitsubishi Galant, VIN: 4A3AB36F34E142389 6. 2011Nissan Maxima, VIN: 1N4AA5AP9BC805125 The vehicles were obtained through successful forfeiture proceedings. The vehicles will be sold at auction and the proceeds, if any, will be disbursed according to Minnesota State Statute. Visioning Relationship: This action supports ; Goal F: Housekeeping Item Alternatives: 1. Authorize staff to declare the vehicles as surplus property. 2. Do not authorize. Recommendation: Staff recommends alternative one. Action Requested: If Council concurs, they should by motion declare the 1993 Toyota Tercel, VIN: JT2EL46S6P0346831; the 1994 Ford Explorer, VIN: 1FMDU34X6RUC94214; the 2001 GMC Yukon, VIN: 3GKFK16T21G287712; the 2003 Chevrolet Impala, VIN: 2G1WF52E839384935; the 2004 Mitsubishi Galant, VIN: 4A3AB36F34E142389; and the 2011Nissan Maxima, VIN: 1N4AA5AP9BC805125 as surplus property.
