SHAKOPEE TO: Mayor and City Council Mark McNeill, City Administrator FROM: Rick Thomson, Engineering Technician IV DATE: 10/07/2014 SUBJECT: Accepting Work on the 2013 Upper Valley Drainageway Improvement Project No. 2013-7, Res. No. 7491 (E) Action Sought Approve Resolution No. 7491, a resolution accepting work on the 2013 Upper Valley Drainageway Improvement Project No. 2013-7. Background All of the work for this project has been completed in accordance with the contract documents. Attached is a Certificate of Completion showing the original contract amount of$83,232.25 and the actual final costs of$86,290.20. The remaining amount left to pay is $4,314.51. Recommendation Staff recommends approving resolution no. 7491 which directs final payment of$4,314.51; therefore accepting the work on the 2013 Upper Valley Drainageway Improvement Project No. 2013-7. Budget Impact This project is funded by the Storm Sewer Fund. Relationship to Vision This supports Goal E: Deliver effective and efficient public services by a staff of well-trained, caring and professional employees. Requested Action Approve Resolution No. 7491, a resolution accepting work on the 2013 Upper Valley Drainageway Improvement Project No. 2013-7. Attachments: Res. No. 7491 Certificate of Completion RESOLUTION NO. 7491 A Resolution Accepting Work On The 2013 Upper Valley Drainageway Improvements Project No. 2013-7 WHEREAS, pursuant to a written contract signed with the City of Shakopee on July 17, 2013, Chard Tiling and Excavating Inc. has satisfactorily completed the 2013 Upper Valley Drainageway Improvement Project in accordance with such contract. NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SHAKOPEE,MINNESOTA that the work completed under said contract is hereby accepted and approved. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk and Mayor are hereby directed to issue a proper order for the final payment on such contract in the amount of$4,314.51, taking the contractor's receipt in full.
