o-.C.:L ·
CITY OF SHAKOPEE
Memorandum CONSENT
CASE LOG NO.: NA
TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council
Shakopee Department Heads
FROM: R. Michael Leek, Community. Development Director
SUBJECT: Resignation of Jason Hunt from the Shakopee Historic Preservation Advisory
Commission
MEETING DATE: September 19,2006
INTRODUCTION:
Jason Hunt was appointed to the Historic Preservation Advisory Commission on May 3,2005.
Because he has enrolled in a Masters Program at the University of Minnesota and is involved in several
committees with the Shakopee School District to help with the upcoming school transitions, his
schedule demands too much of his time to fulfill his obligations with the Commission. Mr. Hunt has
submitted his resignation effective September 11, 2006.
ACTION REQUESTED:
Council is asked to offer and pass a motion accepting the resignation of Jason Hunt from the Historic
Preservation Advisory Commission, and authorizing the appropriate City officials to take the necessary
steps to fill the vacancy created by Mr. Hunt's resignation.

It is with deepest regret that I have to write this email.
I am aware of our meeting tonight, but I once again have conflicts and will not be able to attend. While thinking this over, I have
realized that it would probably be better for the commission is another person was selected in my place. This year I am
finishing up my masters at the University of Minnesota and am on a few committees to help with the upcoming school
transitions. I also have my foot in a few other operations. In summary, I believe that my schedule simply demands too much of
me at this current time to fulfill my obligations with HPAC.
Please understand that it has been wonderful working with you all and you have my 100% support for all you do. I am more
that willing to keep in touch and help where possible. I have learned a lot from each and every one of you and feel as though I
have gained a tremendous amount of knowledge regarding Shakopee that I can pass onto my students. Furthermore, I have
become connected with some very prominent citizens of Shakopee (you guys) and feel much more connected to this city.
Again, thanks for the wonderful opportunity of serving on HPAC.
Regard,
Mr. Jason Hunt
