INTRODUCTION bbOD
City Council is asked to adopt Resolution No. P411, A Resolution of the City of Shakopee,
Minnesota Accepting a local Trails Connection Grant Program for the Quarry lake Park
Project.
BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION
Earlier this year, the Prior lake Water Ski Association and the City. submitted a grant to
the DNR for funding the development of the Quarry lake Park project.
We were notified earlier this summer that we have been awarded $78,675 for this project.
The funding, which is provided as a reimbursable grant, needs to be used by December
31,2008, although extensions have been granted in the past.

If City Council concurs, it should, by motion adopt Resolution No.ft4?1", A Resolution of
the City of Shakopee, Minnesota Accepting a local Trails Connection Grant Program for
the Quarry lake Park Project.

RESOLUTION NO. 6 S- 00
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SHAKOPEE, MINNESOTA
ACCEPTING A LOCAL TRIALS CONNECTION GRANT PROGRAM FOR THE
QUARRY LAKE PARK PROJECT
WHEREAS, the City of Shakopee submitted a grant applicatiory to the
Minnesota DNR to assist with developing the Quarry Lake Park project; and,
WHEREAS, the Prior Lake Water Ski Association assisted the City in
pr.eparing the grant application; and,
WHEREAS, the City has been notified that $78,675 in funding has been
recommended by the DNR for approval; and,
WHEREAS, the funds are to be used for the. purpose of developing a
reclaimed quarry into a multi-use recreational trail facility.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SHAKOPEE, MINNESOTA, that the City of Shakopee (The City) accepts
the grant.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council extends its appreciation
to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources for their assistance in funding
the Quarry Lake Park project.
Adopted in adjourned regular session of the City Council of the City of
Shakopee, Minnesota, held this day of ,2006.
