SUBJECT: Resignation of Officer Kathleen Siercks and
request to fill officer vacancy
DATE: August 22, 2006
INTRODUCTION:
Kathleen Siercks has submitted her resignation as a probationary police officer, for the
Shakopee Police Department.
BACKGROUND:
Officer Siercks' last day of employment with the Shakopee Police Department was
Monday, August 14,2006. The Shakopee Police Department is seeking Council
authorization to continue the testing process to fill the vacant position.
VISIONING RELATIONSHIP:
This action supports:
Goal F - Housekeeping
Strategy 6: Provide high quality services
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the Council accept, with regrets, the resignation of Kathleen
Siercks, and request the Shakopee Police Civil Service Commission continue the testing
process to fill this vacant position.
ACTION REQUESTED:
If the Council concurs, they should, by motion, accept Kathleen Siercks' resignation, and
authorize the Shakopee Police Civil Service Commission to continue the testing process
to fill the vacant police officer position.
