Introduction
The City Council is asked to adopt the attached resolution, amending the 2008 Pay Plan for Part-
Time, Temporary and Seasonal Employees.
Background
At the time the 2008 Pay Plan for Part-Time, Temporary and Seasonal Employees was originally
adopted, the position of Alcohol /Tobacco Compliance Assistant was inadvertently left off the
pay plan. Individuals work for us in this capacity for short durations to assist the police
department with alcohol and tobacco compliance checks on local businesses. The attached pay
plan adds this position back in at the same pay rate as last year ($11.14 per hour).
Budget Impact
Funds to pay Alcohol /Tobacco Compliance Assistants are included in the adopted budget for
the Police Department.
Relationship to Vision
This is a housekeeping item.
Requested Action: If the Council concurs, it should offer Resolution No. 6734, A
RESOLUTION AMENDING THE 2008 PAY PLAN FOR PART-TIME, TEMPORARY AND
SEASONAL EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF SHAKOPEE, and move its adoption.

AND SEASONAL EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF SHAKOPEE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SHAKOPEE,
MINNESOTA, that Resolution No. 6715, A Resolution Adopting the 2008 Pay Plan for Part-
. Time, Temporary and Seasonal Employees of the City of Shakopee, is hereby amended to
include the following position at the stated pay grade:

*Employees are eligible for step increases annually on the anniversary date of
their hire. On-going part-time employees are eligible to move to Step. 1.5 after
six months of employment. Seasonal employees who return for the same season
the following year are eligible to move directly to Step 2 at the beginning of their
second season.
