SUBJECT: Approval of Job Description and Authorization to Begin Hiring Process
for Economic Development Specialist
INTRODUCTION
The City Council will be asked to consider the recommendation of the EDA for approval
of a job description for the position of Economic Development Specialist and authorize
staff to begin the hiring process.
BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION
The EDA will discuss a draft job description for the Economic Development Specialist
position during their meeting on August 2 and make a recommendation to the City
Council.
RELATIONSHIP TO VISION:
The hiring of an Economic Development Specialist is intended to contribute to the
following goals: (B) High Quality of Life, (d) Vibrant, Resilient and Stable, and (E)
Financially Strong.
REQUESTED ACTION
If Council concurs with the recommendation of the ED A, it should offer a motion to
approve the Economic Development Specialist job description at Grade 7 of the City's
2006 Pay Plan and authorize the appropriate staff to being the hiring process.
