SUBJECT: Approval of Public Works Building Plaque

INTRODUCTION:
Attached is proposed language for a Public Work's building plaque for placement at the
new Public Work's building.
BACKGROUND:
With each new building, the City of Shakopee has constructed and placed a plaque for
the building with language for dedication of various people involved in the building
project. Attached is the proposed language to be incorporated into a Public Work's
plaque, which would be similar to the Police Station and the Library. Attached also is a
picture ofthe Police Station's plaque, in which this plaque would be similar to the Public
Work's plaque.
ALTERNATIVES:
1. Approve the language and design of the Public Work's building plaque, as
submitted.
2. Approve the language and design of the Public Work's building plaque, as
modified by City Council.
3. Table for additional information.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends Council review the proposed language and plaque design, and either
approve the proposed design or make changes in order to have a plaque designed and
completed for a September grand opening.
