Dear Mr. Johnson,
I appologize for the delay in getting this information to you.
Scott County Historical Society will host the Smithsonian exhibit, "Key
Ingredients: America by Food", July 1 through August 8, 2006. We are
the
first site in Minnesota, and the only metro site to host this exhibit.
We request the closure of Fuller Street between Second and Third Avenue
from 6am to 7pm on July 1st to accomodate activities for an old
fashioned
4th of July Celebration to open the exhibit.
It is our intention to put a 20'x20' tent on Fuller Street to provide
shelter and shade for various activity tables, visitors, volunteers and
staff. (We will work with the rental company to insure that the tent
anchors are weighted and do not injure the street surface.)
Below is our schedule of events for Saturday, July 1st.
6-8:30am - set-up tent, tables / chairs, hayrack, Soap box
lOam Open Museum, Open Stans house, Welcome by Uncle Sam

"Key Ingredients: America by Food" explores the connections between
Americans and the foods we produce, prepare, preserve, and present at
our
tables. The exhibition takes a provocative, thoughtful look at the
historical, regional, and social traditions that merge in everyday meals
and activities, and looks beyond the home to restaurants, diners, and
celebrations that help build a sense of community through food.
Please let me know if you have any questions or require additional
information.
Cheers,
Kathleen Klehr
