BACKGROUND: Staff budgets monies each year for the pavement preservation of the City's trail system. This year staffis requesting to complete trail sections from the Mill Creek Bridge to Murphy's Landing for the low quote price of$10,585.00. Staffis also requesting to overlay the trail along the Upper Valley Drainage Ditch from 4th Ave. to Sarazin St. Along with this project staff will be lowering the trail by the retention pond along 4th Ave. for an emergency overflow to prevent water from backing up on 4th Ave. The low quote price for this overlay is $11,000.00. Staff has received three quotes with the low quote from Bituminous Roadways, Inc. (Because the quote is older than 30 days, there was an increase of $300. This increase has been added to the quote prices stated above.) , Staff has budgeted $20,000, but due to the increase in bituminous prices the total low quote is $21,585. Staff is recommending the additional cost to he expended from Park Operating Supply budget. AL TERNATIVES: 1. Authorize staff to proceed with the trail overlays for Memorial Park and the Upper Valley Drainage Ditch forthe low quote price from Bituminous Roadways, Inc. of$21,585.00 with $20,000 to be expended from the Park Division Pavement Preservation and $1,585 to be expended from the Park Division Operating Supply budget. 2.
