Adopt Resolution No.7466, A Resolution Appointing Election Judges For The August 12, 2014
Primary and November 4, 2014 General Election.
Introduction and Background
Minnesota State Statutes require that election judges be appointed by the governing body 25 days
prior to the election. The attached resolution appoints judges for the August 12, 2014 Primary and
the November 4, 2014 General Election.

RESOLUTION NO.7466
A RESOLUTION APPOINTING ELECTION JUDGES FOR THE
AUGUST 12, 2014 PRIMARY AND NOVEMBER 4, 2014 GENERAL ELECTION
WHEREAS,the City Council is required by law to provide election judges to conduct the Primary
and General Elections; and
WHEREAS,staff has provided the names of persons who are willing and qualified to serve in said
capacity
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the City of Shakopee, Scott
County, Minnesota:
1. The recitals set forth above are incorporated herein.
2. Hereby appoint the following persons to serve as elections judges for the August 12, 2014
Primary and November 4, 2014 General Elections (see Exhibit A attached)
3. The Election Judges shall be compensated for their work at the rate of$8.75 per hour and the
Head Judge of the Election Judges shall be compensated at the rate of$9.75 per hour; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, based upon the inability of a judge(s) to serve on Election Day or
upon need for additional assistance, the Deputy City Clerk shall be authorized to appoint/hire required
number of persons. Only those persons duly qualified and duly trained to serve as an election judge may
be selected to serve in this capacity.
Adopted in adj. regular session of the City Council of the City of Shakopee, Minnesota, held this 15th day
of July, 2014.
