Subject: DNR Grant Acceptance for Quarry Lake Park, Resolution No. 6722
INTRODUCTION
City Council is asked to adopt Resolution No.6722, A Resolution of the City of Shakopee,
Minnesota Accepting a Minnesota Local Trails Connection Grant for the Quarry Lake Park
Project.
BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION
In 2005, the Prior Lake Water Ski Association and the City submitted a grant to the DNR
for funding the development of the Quarry Lake Park project.
We were notified that we have been awarded $78,675 for this project. The funding, which
is provided as a reimbursable grant, had a deadline of December 31, 2008. The DNR has
granted an extension of the project and the funding is to be used by June 30, 2009.
Resolution No. 6500 was adopted on September 19, 2006 accepting the Local Trail
Connections grant however the resolution did not include all of the information required by
the DNR. A revised resolution is required to obtain the grant contract between the City of
Shakopee and the Minnesota DNR.
