SHA}CCiP E TO: Mayor and City Council Mark McNeill, City Administrator FROM: Brad Eller, Recreation Supervisor DATE: 05/20/2014 SUBJECT: Authorization to Dispose of Surplus Property from Enigma Teen Center (F) Action Sought The Council is asked to authorize the disposal of two portable stage sections from the Enigma Teen Center. Background In 2005, the Teen Center installed a permanent stage constructed of fire treated lumber and plywood. It was covered with charcoal carpet material. As part of the project, three portable stage sections were constructed out of regular lumber and are covered with charcoal carpet. One section has been used consistently as a drum riser, the other two (9'L x 4'W x 8 1 /2 "H) have not been used on a consistent basis, serve no current need and are stored in the Teen Center. City staff has contacted the League of Minnesota Cities, and will follow the procedures, as defined in the City Code and State Statute to dispose of or advertise, accept offers and determine sale of the surplus items. Budget Impact This item has no budgetary impact. Proceeds from any sale of the stage sections will be placed back in the Teen Center general fund revenues. Relationship to Vision This is a housekeeping item. (F) Requested Action The Council is asked to declare the listed stage sections as surplus property and authorize the appropriate staff to sell or dispose of these items as warranted. Attachments:
