Action Sought
The City Council is asked to offer Resolution No. 7447, A Resolution of the City of Shakopee, Minnesota
Accepting the Donation of Safety Fence at Tahpah Park from the Shakopee Men's Softball.
Background and Discussion
Over the winter months, members of Shakopee Men's Softball requested the installation of safety fencing along
Field 4 at Tahpah Park. This safety fence would be similar to the existing safety fence at Field 1. The fence would
be 40' in length and consist of 8' gage fencing. Staff has met with members of Shakopee Men's Softball and Bill
Egan, Parks Maintenance Supervisor to discuss project. The project is acceptable to all parties. The cost of the
project is $1,155. Men's Softball will pay for the installation of the fence. Upon accepting the donation of this
improvement the fence will be added to the City's Park Asset list.
The City of Shakopee appreciates the generosity and partnership of Shakopee Men's Softball, who continues to
support the City's parks and recreation services and has given time and resources over the years to help make the
Shakopee facilities wonderful facilities for the community.
