Introduction
The City Council is asked to recognize the successful completion of probationary periods for
three police Department employees.

On December 11, 2006, Mark Dominiak was hired as probationary police officer and T J. Baker
was promoted from community service officer to probationary police officer. Both have now
completed the required one-year probationary period.
Darlene Bjerketvedt was promoted from Police Records Technician to police Department

Chief Hughes is satisfied with the performance and contributions of all three employees and
recommends that they each be granted full-time regular status in their respective positions.

It is recommended that the Council recognize Officer Dominiak, Officer Baker and Ms.
Bjerketvedt's successful completion of their respective probationary periods and grant them full-
time regular status.
Relationship to Vision
The hiring and retention of qualified individuals to serve as City employees contributes to a
vibrant, resilient and stable city (Goal D).
Requested Action
If it concurs, the Council should offer a motion to grant full-time regular status to Mark
Dominiak, TJ. Baker and Darlene Bjerketvedt in their respective positions with the Shakopee
Police Department.
