PR2005-3 Final Pay Authorization
Introduction
This item is to request City Council's authorization for acceptance of work and final
payment to Greystone Construction Company for the Huber Park and Related Riverfront
Redevelopment, Fillmore Street Extension, And Alley Improvement - Building Package,
Project No. PR2005-3.
Background
The construction of Huber Park began in 2006 with the City issuing contracts to two
general contractors, Greystone Construction Company and K.A. Witt. Greystone
Construction Company was responsible for the building construction elements, which
included the performance stage, restroom/support building, and entry monuments.
Greystone Construction Company delivered the project on time, within budget, and with
high quality workmanship. We anticipate finalizing K.A. Witt's contract at one of the
October City Council meetings.
The Greystone Construction Company final contract budget is as follows:
Funding
Original Contract: $1,037,693
5% Continaencv $ 51 .885
Total Funding $1,089,578
Final Cost
Final Contract Amount $1,037,693
Chanae Orders 1-3 $ 19.965 (1.9%)
Final Cost $1,057,658
By aggressively managing the contract, we were able to keep the change order costs for
this portion of the contract to under 2%. In addition, our preliminary estimates for the
entire project budget shows that we will be under budaet for the entire project by
approximately $140,000. We will confirm this number when City Council finals out the
K.A. Witt contract.
