SUBJECT: Successful Completion of Probationary Period -- Police Officer Jamie Pearson

Introduction
The City Council is asked to recognize Police Officer Jamie Pearson's successful completion of
her initial probationary period.
Background
Jamie Pearson was hired as a probationary police officer on July 24, 2006 and has now
completed the one-year probationary period required of police officers.
Chief Hughes is satisfied with the performance and contribution of Officer Pearson and
recommends that she be granted full-time regular status as a Police Officer with the Shakopee
Police Department.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the Council recognize Officer Pearson's successful completion of her
probationary period and grant her full-time regular status.
Relationship to Vision
The hiring and retention of qualified individuals to serve as City employees contributes to a
vibrant, resilient and stable city (Goal D).
Requested Action
If it concurs, the Council should offer a motion to grant full-time regular status to Jamie Pearson
with the Shakopee Police Department.
