Subject: Derby Days Use of Huber Park
INTRODUCTION
This agenda item is an informational item in regards to the 2007 Derby Da s use of
Huber Park.
BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION
Derby Days committee chairs intend to run the majority of events as in yea s past within
the downtown area. Many of these events were planned early in the year nd
committee chairs cited the logistical risk involved in moving some events to Huber Park
during the Derby Days planning process of 2006-07.
The committee plans to use the knowledge obtained from the implementati I n of the
150th and Huber Park Grand Opening events in order to expand sQme eve ts into Huber
Park in 2008. .
No special logistical planning will be needed for these events. City staff will facilitate
these groups free of charge as a supporter of Derby Days.
Other Derby Days events that Parks and Recreation staff will be facilitating. Teen
DJ/Dance night on Aug. 2, Zombie Board Downtown Grind Skateboarding xpo/Monster
Truck Display on Aug. 3, Ice Arena Open House and Skate Races on Aug. , Aquatic
Park Splashtacular on Aug. 5, Enigma Parade Entry and Parks/Recreation arade Entry
on Aug. 5.
