SUBJECT: Completion of Probationary Period - Jessica Nikunen
MEETING DATE: July 3, 2007
Introduction
The City Council is asked to recognize Jessica Nikunen's successful completion of the
one-year probationary period resulting from her promotion to Human Resources
Technician and grant her full-time regular status.
Background
Jessica Nikunen was promoted to the newly created position ofHR Technician on July
10, 2006. In this position, Ms. Nikunen is responsible for processing payroll for all city
employees, administering a variety of benefit programs and assisting individual
employees and supervisors with their HR questions. Over the past year Ms. Nikunen has
demonstrated her ability to successfully manage these responsibilities week in and week
out.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the Council recognize Jessica's successful completion ofthe one-
year probationary period and grant her full-time regular status as a HR Technician.
Requested Action
If it concurs, the Council should offer a motion to grant Jessica Nikunen full-time, regular
status as a HR Technician.
