Completion of Probationary Period-Custodian Steve Quaday o,e.3 CITY OF SHAKOPEE Memorandum CO~lSENT TO: Mayor and City Council Mark McNeill, City Administrator FROM: Kris Wilson, Assistant City Administrato~ SUBJECT: Completion of Probationary Period - Custodian Steve Quaday DATE: May 9,2007 Introduction The City Council is asked to recognize Steve Quaday's successful completion of the twelve- month probationary period required for new employees and grant him full-time, regular status as a Custodian. Background Steve Quaday began working for the City on May 15,2006 as a full-time, evening Custodian in the Government Buildings division. This reflected the addition of a custodian position to accommodate the opening of the new Public Works building and the need for additional cleaning services in some of our buildings that are open seven-days a week. Mr. Quaday's supervisor has conducted a formal performance evaluation and is recommending that he be granted full-time, regular status. Visioning Relationship: Hiring and retaining qualified individuals to provide service to Shakopee residents helps support Goal D - a vibrant, resilient and stable city. Recommendation It is recommended that the Council recognize Mr. Quaday's successful completion of the twelve- month probationary period for new employees and grant him full-time, regular status as a Custodian. Requested Action If it concurs, the Council should offer a motion to grant Steve Quaday full-time, regular status as a Custodian.
