The purchase to be funded from the Capital Equipment Internal Service Fund using State Bid Pricing Contract #C796- 102012. Background In the 2014 Capital Equipment Budget, the Public Works Department identified a need to replace our Brush Chipper. With new technology manufacturers continue to improve with safer, more productive equipment. This new unit senses engine rpm to slow down or speed up the feed rollers to prevent blockage of the chute. Staff is requesting Council consider using State Bid Pricing to replace our existing 2000 Brush Bandit 250XP with a new 2014 Model for the price of $31,093.25, including trade -in. Staff had estimated $40,000.00 in the 2014 Capital Equipment Budget for this purchase. Recommendation Staff recommends this purchase. Budget Impact Purchase to be funded from the Capital Equipment Internal Service Fund. Relationship to Vision E.
