Action Sought
Approve Resolution No. 7242, A resolution approving plans and specifications and ordering
advertisement for bids for the 2014 Lion's Park Tennis Court Improvements Project No. 2014 -6.
Background
Staff has completed the plans for the project and would request that City Council approve the
plans and authorize advertisement for bids, with the intent to have plans combined with the
Southbridge Community park plans and bid as one project.
This Project has been included in the Park Asset CIP for years and the plan has been to reduce the
courts from 4 to 2 and add a handicap accessible parking lot to the site.
The plans were approved, and bids were ordered to be advertised for Southbridge Community
Park at the last City Council meeting. In order to keep the bid process on schedule, it is
necessary for this action to be taken at the City Council's workshop meeting of March 4th.
Recommendation
Adopt Resolution No. 7424, a resolution approving plans and specifications and ordering
advertisement for bids for the 2014 Lion's Park Tennis Court Improvements Project No. 2014 -6.
Budget Impact
This project will be funded by the Park Asset Fund. The current estimate for this project from the
Park Asset Fund CIP is $350,000.00.
Relationship to Vision
This supports Goal E: Deliver effective and efficient public services by a staff of well- trained,
caring and professional employees.
Requested Action

Project No. 2014 -6
WHEREAS, Bruce Loney, Public Works Director has prepared plans and specifications
for improvements for the 2014 Lion's Park Tennis Court Improvements Project, by parking lot and
tennis court construction and any appurtenant work, and has presented such plans and specifications
to the Council for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SHAKOPEE, MINNESOTA:
1. Such plans and specifications, a copy of which is on file and of record in the Office
of the City Engineer, are hereby approved.
2. The City Clerk shall prepare and cause to be inserted in the official paper and on
questcdn.com an advertisement for bids upon the making of such improvement under such
approved plans and specifications. The Advertisement for Bids shall be published as required by
law.
