SUBJ: Tri-city Tactical Team

Introduction
Finance has been approached to provide financial services to
the Tri-city Tactical Team of which we are a member.
Background
Finance has been approached by Chief Hughes on behalf of the
Tri-city Tactical Team to provide financial services. The
Tri-city Tactical Team has concerns over cash management in
such a small organization. It is anticipated that the cost
of the service would be minimal.
Such services would be accounts payable, accounts
receivable, cash management and reporting. Most of the
activity would be for paying bills. The Team to this point
has not had any cash - just contributed personnel and
equipment.
The proposal is to have a separate fund on the city books
and use the city's checks and checking account as is done
for the drug task force. This would be the most cost
effective and easiest to administer, but the checks issued
for the Tri-city Tactical Team would show on the Council's
bill list.
Alternatives
1. Do not provide financial services.
2. Provide financial services using the city's bank
account.
Recommendation
As part of belonging to various organizations, I feel that
the city should do its share of supporting activities. This
is estimated to not entail a significant increase in work
load.
Action
Move to authorize city staff to provide financial services
to the Tri-city Tactical Team utilizing the City checking
account.
