Bills including Storm Drainage and Mowing, Res. No. 7374 (C) Action Sought Offer Resolution No. 7374, A Resolution Certifying Delinquent Storm Drainage and Mowing Fees for Collection on the Tax Rolls Payable 2014, and move its adoption. Background The City routinely certifies past due storm drainage utility bills for collection with the property taxes. Resolution No. 7374 certifies one (1) bill for delinquent storm drainage fees and two (2) bills for delinquent mowing services including a$25.00 certification fee, for collection with the 2014 taxes. The total amount after fees have been applied for these three parcels is $826.72. The property owners have been notified of the process. Recommendation Offer Resolution No. 7374, A Resolution Certifying Delinquent Storm Drainage and Mowing Fees for Collection on the Tax Rolls Payable 2014, and move its adoption. NO. 7374 RESOLUTION NO. 7374 A RESOLUTION CERTIFYING DELINQUENT STORM DRAINAGE UTILITY BILLS AND MOWING FEES FOR COLLECTION ON THE TAX ROLL PAYABLE 2014 WHEREAS, the Shakopee City Council did create a storm drainage utility pursuant to Ordinance Number 176 and the storm drainage utility is supported by user fees collected by utility bills and the below bills are delinquent. WHEREAS, the City has performed mowing services on certain private property and bills for said services are delinquent and collectable pursuant to Code section 10.73. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SHAKOPEE,MINNESOTA: 1. That such proposed assessment together with any amendments thereof,are hereby accepted and shall constitute the special assessment against the lands named herein and each tract therein included is hereby found to be delinquent. That there will be added to the delinquent amount a $25.00 fee if the delinquent amount is not paid before November 6,2013. 3. Such assessments shall be payable in one installment, payable on or before Monday December 23, 2013, and shall bear interest at the rate of 5.00 percent per annum from the date of the adoption of this assessment resolution. To the one installment shall be added the interest on the entire assessment from the date of this resolution until December 31, 2014. 4. The owner of any property so assessed may, at any time prior to December 6, 2013,pay the whole of the assessment on such property without interest to the City of Shakopee Finance Department. After December 6 2013 the owner of an property so assessed may a the p Yp p Y Yp Y whole of the assessment on such property with interest from the date of this resolution to the City of Shakopee Finance Department. 5. The owner may thereafter pay to the County Treasurer the installment and interest in process of collection on the current tax list. 6. The Clerk shall file the assessment rolls pertaining to this assessment in her office and shall certify to the County Auditor the total amount of the installment on each parcel of land for collection with next year's taxes.
