TO: Economic Development Authority
FROM: Mark McNeill, City Administrator
DATE: 09/03/2013
SUBJECT: EDA Meeting Schedule
Action Sought
The EDA should consider the scheduling of EDA meetings bi-weekly,to coincide with the schedule of the regular
City Cowcil meetings.
Background
Currently, the EDA meets the third Tuesday of the month, which corresponds with the second meeting of the City
Council each month. However, this creates problems in scheduling, especially during extremely busy periods when
there may be the frequent need for consideration of development activities by the EDA.
For this reason, staff recommends that the EDA approve regular meetings on both the first and third Tuesdays of the
moilth, which would correspond to the City Council's regular meeting agenda. If there is no reason to meet, the
EDA could simply convene, and adjourn without taking any action.
Budget Impact
None.
Relationship to Vision
This corresponds to Goal B, "Positively manage the challenges and opportunities presented by growth,
development, and change."
Recommendation
I recommend that the EDA approve a change to the regular meeting schedule to include both the fiist and third
Tuesdays of each month.
Action Required
if EDA concurs, it should adopt the following resolution:
RESOLUTION NO. 2013-5
Resolution authorizing a change in the regular meeting schedule of the Economic Development Authority in
and for the City of Shakopee,Minnesota.

RESOLUTION NO. 2013-5

economic development considerations by the EDA.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY
