from Home Choice for Enigma Teen Center - Res. No 7352 (D)
Action Sought
The City Council is asked to accept Resolution No 7352, a Resolution of the City of Shakopee,
Minnesota Accepting the Donation of$1000 from Home Choice.
Introduction
The City Council is asked to consider a donation of$1000 from Home Choice .
Background
Home Choice is a new store in Shakopee located at 1136 Vierling Drive. As part of the store's
grand opening a donation is made to a local entity. They chose to donate $1000 to the City's
Enigma Teen Center. Representatives from the Enigma Staff and Enigma's Teen Advisory Board
attended the grand opening on Saturday, August 17, 2013. Home Choice presented the group with
an over sized check in the amount of$1000. The check will be displayed in Enigma to recognize
the generous donation.
The donation will be put towards supplies and programs to enhance Enigma.
Relationship to Vision
D. Maintain, improve and create strong partnerships with other public and private sector
entities.
Requested Action
If the City Council concurs, offer Resolution No. 7352, a Resolution of the City of Shakopee,
Minnesota Accepting the Donation of$1000 from Home Choice.

RESOLUTION NO. 7352
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SHAKOPEE, MINNESOTA
ACCEPTING THE DONATION OF $1000 FROM
HOME CHOICE
WHEREAS, on November 6, 2002, the City Council adopted Resolution
No. 5794, which established procedure relating to the receipt of gifts and
donations by the City; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 5794 specifies that donations or gifts shall be
accepted by resolution of the City Council, and shall require a two-thirds majority
of the Council for acceptance; and
WHEREAS, HOME CHOICE, a local business has generously donated
$1000 to Enigma Teen Center; and
WHEREAS, such donations will help improve the teen center and
enhance the overall quality of life for teens in Shakopee.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SHAKOPEE, MINNESOTA, that the donation is gratefully
accepted; and
FURTHER, the City staff is directed to send a letter to the donor,
acknowledging receipt of the gift and expressing the appreciation of the City
Council.
Adopted in regular session of the City Council of the City of Shakopee,
Minnesota held this 3�d day of September, 2013.
