D. 3. �r�,��c�a,�-�- TO: Mayor and City Council Mark McNeill, City Administrator FROM: Kris Wilson, Assistant City Administrator DATE: 08/20/2013 SUBJECT: Amendment to 2013 Non-Union Pay Plan -- Resolution No. 7345 (F) Action Sought The Council is asked to offer Resolution No. 7345, a resolution amending Resolution No. 7260, adopting the 2013 pay plan for certain non-union employees of the City of Shakopee, and move its adoption. Background Earlier this year the City Council approved the job description far the new position of full-time firefighter. The job description indicated that the position would be in Grade 5 of the non-union pay plan. This action simply amends the pay plan to reflect this. Secondly, this action allows for the use of the job title "Office Assistant" in place of"Office Service Worker," depending on the Department's preference. Relationship to Vision This is a housekeeping item (E). Requested Action The Council is asked to offer Resolution No. 7345, a resolution amending Resolution No. 7260, adopting the 2013 pay plan for certain non-union employees of the City of Shakopee, and move its adoption. Attachments: Resolution No. 7345 RESOLUTION No. 7345 A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION No. 7260, A RESOLUTION ADOPTIONG THE 2013 PAY PLAN FOR CERTAIN NON-UNION EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF SHAKOPEE WHEREAS, on December 5, 2012, the City Council of the City of Shakopee, Minnesota, adopted Resolution No. 7260, a resolution adopting the 2013 pay plan far certain non-union employees of the City of Shakopee; and WHEREAS, since that date, the City Council has approved the new position of full-time Firefighter at Pay Grade 5; and WHEREAS, there is a desire to use the job title "Office Assistant"in place of"Office Service Worker." NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SHAKOPEE, MINNESOTA, that the pay plan adopted by Resolution No. 7260 is hereby amended as stated on the attached pay plan.
