and Environmental Advisory Committee Meetings
INTRODUCTION
City Council is asked to extend the time forjoint meetings with the Parks and Recreation
Advisory Board and Environmental Advisory Committee,
DISCUSSION
As directed by City Council, the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board (PRAB) and
Environmental Advisory Committee (EAC) have been conducting aipilot program where
they met jointly since March to determine whether a combined board would beimore
efficientand.effective, while not detrimental to either Board's charge. During this time,
the two boards as a whole have had an opportunity to consider a variety of items that
each board handles individually, .
The two Boards discussed the outcome of this pilot program at their April meeting. Their
opinion was that the interaction between the Boards was beneficial, but the amount of
work, that each Board had\was posing a challenge, Both Boards requested that they
have an opportunity to continue to meet jointly through June to determine if they can
streamline the meetings to cover the required work.
Since City Council only authorized joint meetings through May, we would need to
request an extension of the joint meeting through June.
