(E) Action Sought L Move to autharize the purchase of one new car wash from NuStar for the price of$50,376.00 with the funding to be expended from the Capital Equipment Internal Service Fund. 2. Move to authorize the listed building repairs for the combined price of$38,587.00 with the funding to be expended from the Government Building Asset Internal Service Fund. Background Staff included in the 2013 Capital Equipment Budget a need to replace the existing car wash due to corrosion. Staff has included, beggining in 2013 and continuing every year, a charge to the users to pay for the replacement of this unit. The new unit will have stainless steel and brass fittings with mega crimp hose ends to prevent corrosion. Staff is also recommending several un-anticipated repairs to the wash-bay at this time due to corrosion, mold, ventilation and the floar settlement to the west accumulating water. Below are the quotes for the various repairs. 1. Ventilation - additional exhaust fan - Owens Companies, $12,000.00. 2. Painting - sandblast and remove latex paint, repaint with epoxy primer and moisture cured urethane - Champion Coatings, $14,200.00 3. Replace fire suppresion piping and sprinkler heads - replace with galvanized pipe, stainless steel hangers and brass sprinkler heads - SimplexGrinnel, $8,062.00. 4. Replace exhaust duct - replace existing exhaust duct with PVC duct - Minnesota Plumbing and Heating, Inc., $1,475.00. 5. Raise and re-level floor- Advanced Sandjacking, Inc., $2,850.00. The total combined price for these repairs is $38,587.00 with the funding to be expended from the Government Building Asset Internal Service Fund. Recommendation Staff recommends the replacement and repairs. Budget Impact Funding will be expended from the Capital Equipment Internal Service Fund and Government Building Asset Internal Service Fund. Relationship to Vision E.
