SUBJECT: Successful Completion of Probation Sergeant Tom Crocker

INTRODUCTION:
The Police Department is taking this opportunity to notify the City Council that the
services of Sergeant Tom Crocker have been satisfactory and recommend that he be
retained in the position of Police Sergeant, as authorized by Section VIII, paragraph H-l
of the Personnel Handbook.
BACKGROUND:
The City Council authorized the appointment of Tom Crocker to the position of
probationary police sergeant effective May 6, 2005. Sergeant Crocker has performed the
responsibilities of the position in a satisfactory manner over the past six months.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that Sergeant Tom Crocker be retained in the position of Shakopee
Police Sergeant.
ACTION REQUESTED:
The City Council, if they concur, should by motion acknowledge the satisfactory
completion of probation and authorize the retention of Tom Crocker as Police Sergeant
effective November 6, 2005.
