RESOLUTION FOR CITY COUNCIL WHEREAS, municipalities should have the rightto determine how their elections should be conducted; and WHEREAS, using ranked vote processes can allow municipalities to . achieve representative elections without the. expense, and low tLJrnoutbfa primary; WHEREAS, the option to use ranked vote processes will be .more attractive to municipalities if the local voting equipment has rankecfvote--"--.._o capability; and WHEREAS, ranked vote capability will be more affordable if vendors are required to offer that feature when bidding for contracts in Minnesota; NOW THEREFORE, IT.ISRESOLVEDTHAT: 1. The Minnesota legislature should allow all municipalities to choose ranked vote elections. 2. The Minnesota legislature should require that all new voting equipment purchased in Minnesota have the capability of processing ranked vote ejections. Questions?
