CITY OF SHAKOPEE IS: E. :J- ,
Memorandum
TO: Mayor and City Council CONSENT
FROM: Mark McNeill, City Administrator
SUBJECT: Status Change - Toni Huber
DATE: October 14,2005
INTRODUCTION:
The Council is asked to approve a change in status from full time, to part-time for
Executive Secretary Toni Huber.
BACKGROUND:
Toni has been employed with the City of Shakopee since 1984. Recently, she has made a
request to voluntarily be reduced from full time, to .9 status. She would work nine hour
days, with every Monday off. There is no overtime generated from the longer work day.
I have looked at the request, and believe that from a workload status, the change can be
accommodated. She is doing this at her request, and understands that her benefits would
be prorated to 90%.
BUDGET IMPACT:
There would be a savings of 10% of her salary, which, with benefits, amounts to
approximately $6,300 annually.
The request would take effective October 24th.
RECOMMENDATION:
I recommend that the request to go to part-time status be granted.
ACTION REQUIRED:
If the Council concurs, it should, by motion, authorize the approval of part-time status for
Toni Huber;effeCtive October 24; 2005.
