SUBJECT: Storm Water Pipe Replacement
INTRODUCTION:
Public Works is requesting to replace to storm water pipe on Norton Drive.
BACKGROUND:
The heavy rains that occurred in September and October have damaged the storm water
pipe on Norton Drive. The damage to the pipe is causing the road to deteriorate quickly.
Staff has put out a request for quotes for this project. They will be available to you at the
meeting Tuesday night. The cost is expected to be over $10,000 and therefore requires
council approval.
ALTERNATIVES:
1. Authorize staff to utilize the 10west quote for replacement of the storm water pipe
on Norton Drive with the costs to be paid out of storm drainage fund.
2. Deny the request.
3. Table for more information.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends alternative No.1.
ACTION REQUESTED:
Move to approve the 10w quote for the replacement of the storm water pipe of Norton
Drive with the costs to be paid out ofthe storm drainage funds.

BACKGROUND:
Attached are two quotes to replace the stormwater culvert on Norton Drive.
The low quote received is from Parrott Contracting, Inc. and work could start on
Wednesday, October 19,2005.
ACTION REQUESTED:
Move to approve the quote from Parrott Contracting, Inc. for the replacement of the
stormwater pipe on Norton Drive with the costs to be paid out of Storm Drainage Funds.

two aprons for the sum of $23,237.00
This price includes bituminous ,removal, temporary traffic control, bypass pumping, 60 ton
of class-5, export excess dirt,\10 cy rip rap, removal of existing cmp, stabilization
rock, 48 LF 42 Class-3 RCP, 2 RCP aprons.
If this is acceptable please let me know so that we are able to schedule this work.

Prices do not include any costs for: w.A.C. or S.A.C., special licenses, dewatering, frost ripping, bond or share of
bond, final adjustment of structures by others, construction staking, engineering fees or testing unless otherwise
states above.
Parrott Contracting hereby proposes to furnish labor and materials - complete in accordance with above
specifications, for the sum of fourteen thousand one hundred fifty and 00/100($14,150.00) with payment to be
made as follows: 30 days following completion late charges at 1.5% p/month.
All material is guaranteed to be as specified. All work to be completed in a workmanlike manner according to standard practices. Any
alterations for deviation from above specifications involving extra costs, will be executed only upon written orders, and will become an extra
charge over and above the estimate. All agreements contingent upon strikes, accidents, or delays beyond our control. This proposal is
subject to acceptance within 1.Q days of bid opening and is void thereafter at the option of the undersigned.
