(E) Action Sought Approve a motion accepting the petition from residents to recontruct Apgar Street, from 6th Avenue to 10th Avenue, and direct staff to consider this project in the 2014 CIP. Background On June 25, 2013 staff received the attached petition signed by thirteen of the thirty -three property owners on Apgar Street, between 6th Avenue and 10th Avenue. A number of them are concerned about the condition of the sanitary sewer and the street. Staff has completed a draft of the 2014 CIP. Apgar Street between 6th Avenue and 10th Avenue is proposed for a street reconstruction in 2014. Recommendation Accept the petition from the Apgar Street residents from 6th Avenue to 10th Avenue and direct staff to consider this project in the 2014 CIP. Budget Impact This project could affect the City's Tax Levy, Storm Sewer Fund and Sanitary Sewer Fund, if implemented. Relationship to Vision This supports goal B: Positively manage the challenges and opportunities presented by growth development and change. Requested Action Council should adopt a motion accepting the petition from Apgar Street residents., seeking to reconstruct Apgar Street from 6th Avenue to 10th Avenue, and direct staff to consider this project in the 2014 CIP. Attachments: PETITION STREET RECONSTRUCTION OF APGAR STREET PETITION The undersigned petitioners, who own property on Apgar Street between 6`" Avenue and 10 Avenue, have concerns about the condition of the street. This section of Apgar Street is more than 50 years old and beyond repair. We also have concerns as to the condition of the sanitary sewer main and services to our property. The service lines are Orangeburg. We would like the City of Shakopee to schedule this reconstruction project to be completed in 2014.
