SUBJECT: Apportionment of Special Assessments
for RLS #190

INTRODUCTION:
City Council is asked to consider adopting the attached Resolution No. 6252 which
apportions existing special assessments against newly created lots located within RLS #190.
BACKGROUND:
Prior to the subdivision of Lot 1, Block 3, Dean Lakes 2nd Addition into RLS #190, there
were existing special assessments against it for the construction of CSAH 83, from lih
Avenue to 1870 Feet South of the Existing Intersection ofCSAH 16 and for CSAH 16 From
850 Feet West ofCSAH 83 to 1500 Feet East ofCSAH 83, Project No. 2001-4 and for the
Dean Lakes Improvements, Project No. 2004-4. Now that the parcel has been subdivided
into two parcels, it is necessary to apportion these assessments against each of the new lots.
Resolution No. 6252 apportions the existing special assessments against the newly created
lots within RLS #190.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Offer Resolution No. 6252, A Resolution Apportioning Assessments Among New Parcels
Created As A Result OfRLS #190, and move its adoption.

RESOLUTION NO. 6252
A RESOLUTION APPORTIONING ASSESSMENTS AMONG NEW
PARCELS CREATED AS A RESULT OF RLS # 190
WHEREAS, on November 6, 2002, Resolution No. 5803 adopted by the City
Council levied assessments against properties benefited by the CSAH 83, from 12th Avenue
to 1870 Feet South of the Existing Intersection of CSAH 16 and for CSAH 16 From 850
Feet West ofCSAH 83 to 1500 Feet East ofCSAH 83, Project No. 2001-4; and
WHEREAS, on February 3, 2004, Resolution No. 6008 adopted by the City Council
apportioned the installments remaining unpaid against the parcels created because of the
platting of Registered Land Survey No. 184; and
WHEREAS, on July 6, 2004, Resolution No. 6081 adopted by the City Council
apportioned the installments remaining unpaid against the parcels created because of the
platting of Dean Lakes 1 st Addition; and
WHEREAS, on October 19,2004, Resolution No. 6128 adopted by the City Council
apportioned the installments remaining unpaid against the parcels created because of the
platting of Dean Lakes Second Addition; and
WHEREAS, on October 19,2004, Resolution No. 6132 adopted by the City Council
levied assessments against properties benefited by the Dean Lakes Improvements, Project
No. 2004-4; and
WHEREAS, a parcel benefited by the said improvements and known as parcel
number 27-374009-0 has been subdivided into RLS # 190; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to apportion the installments
remaining unpaid against this parcel because of the subdividing ofRLS # 190.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SHAKOPEE, MINNESOTA that the 2005 payable remaining balance of
assessments (to parcel 27-374009-0 for the 2001-4 County Road 16/County Road 83 Project
and for the 2004-4 Dean Lakes Improvements) are hereby apportioned as outlined in Exhibit
"A" attached hereto and made a part hereof.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that all other parts of Resolution Numbers 5803,
6008,6081,6128 and 6132 shall continue in effect.
Adopted in Adj. Regular Session of the City Council of the City of Shakopee,
Minnesota, held this 21st day of June, 2005.
