DISCUSSION The following are a list of reductions proposed as a change order with pricing and the overall budget totals: Bid Item Estimate/CIP Bid Update Budget Park Construction Bid $192,112.5 $304,527 Playground 100,000 100,000 Staff Design and Construction Administration 15,000 15,000 Contingency (5%) 15,000 15,000 Sewer Availability Charge SAC, Water Connection 0 7,692 Charge WAC and Trunk Water Charge (TWC) . o fixture units = 0 SAC charges @ $1,900/unit . 1 WAC unit @ $2,300/unit, max. Eliminate tennis windscreen. This item was not in the (1,680) original estimate. Reducing the tennis fence enclosure by 192 feet (12,480) Reduce the number of light fixtures from by 2 (8,000) Total 346,000 344,174 The proposed reductions will retain Council's directive of lighting the park, and hopefully will retain the proposed function of the park. We are still confirming quantities of trees to be planted on the site. We are meeting with one of our sources, Aarbor Homes, on June 17 to review their off-site replacement needs. We anticipate approximately 25-35 trees from this source, and will continue to pursue other sources to meet the overall landscaping plan. Please note: since the contract was a unit bid contract, technically City Council does not need to authorize the reduction of unit quantities. REQUESTED ACTION City Council is asked to authorize, by motion, the proposed unit quantity reductions for Greenfield West Park, as outlined in the June 21, 2005 memo from Andrea Weber, Parks and Recreation Landscape Designer.
