:Introduction
Council is requested to consider increasing the purchasing limit from
$5,000 to $10,000 without Council action.
Background
The City Administrator and designated staff are currently authorized to
make purchases of less than $5,000 without prior Council approval. This

Alternatives
1. Status quo at $5,000.
2. Increase limit to $10,000.
3. Increase to an amount between $5,000 and $10,000.
Recommendation
Alternative No. 2.
Action
Move to direct staff to prepare an amendment to the City Code to
increase the purchasing limit from $5,000 to $10,000 for items not
requiring prior Council approval.
