I 'f. ft ' I,
CITY OF SHAKOPEE
MEMORANDUM
To: Mayor and City Council
Mark McNeill, City Administrator
From: Mark Themig, Facilities and Recreation Director
Meeting Date: March 16, 2004
Subject: Parks and Recreation Survey Task Force Resolution of Appreciation
No. 6024
INTRODUCTION
City Council is asked to accept Resolution No. 6024, a Resolution of Appreciation to the
Citizen Task Force for a Survey on Parks and Recreation Services.
BACKGROUND
City Council established a Citizen Task Force in April 2003 to assist the Parks and
Recreation Advisory Board in developing and implementing a city-wide survey on Parks
and Recreation services.
AI Andersen, Ben Czech, Steve Czech, Kitty Hauer, Charlie Pehrson, Shirley Reinke,
Bryan Sorenson, Gretchen Theis, and Tim Williams volunteered their services on this
project.
Since staff worked with Scott County to develop the survey, it took longer than it
probably would have if the City had used a consultant. Even with the additional time, the
Task Force remained committed to the effort.
I would like to extend my gratitude to the Task Force, as well as Scott County staff John
Mulcahy, for developing a survey that returned a wealth of information.
REQUESTED ACTION
If Council concurs, move to accept Resolution No. 6024, a Resolution of Appreciation to
the Citizen TaskForce for a Survey on Parks and Recreation Services.
