No. 7307 (F) Action Sought This item is for the City Council to consider restricting parking on Valley View Road, from Evergreen Lane to Sarazin Street in order to utilize State Aid Funds on the Valley View Road Project No. 2012 -7. Background City Council has ordered plans and specifications for the Valley View Road Project. In order to expend State Aid Funds on this project, a resolution restricting parking on Valley View Road is necessary. The resolution is to restrict parking on Valley View Road, from Evergreen Lane to Sarazin Street. Recommendation Staff recommends Approving Resolution No.7307, a Resolution Restricting Parking on Valley View Road from Evergreen Lane to Sarazin Street, in order for the City to obtain State Aid Funds for this project. Budget Impact If the resolution is not passed, this project as designed, will not be eligible for State Aid Funds. Relationship to Vision This supports Goal F, "Housekeeping ". Requested Action Offer Resolution No. 7307, A Resolution Restricting Parking on Valley View Road, from Evergreen Lane to Sarazin Street, Project No. 2012 -7 and move its adoption. Attachments: RES. NO. 7307 RESOLUTION NO. 7307 A Resolution Restricting Parking On Valley View Road, From Evergreen Lane To Sarazin Street Project No. 2012 -7 WHEREAS, the City of Shakopee has planned the improvement of Valley View Road, from Evergreen Lane to Sarazin Street; and WHEREAS, the City of Shakopee will be expending State Aid Funds on this roadway; and WHEREAS, since this improvement lacks adequate width for parking on both sides of the road, approval of the proposed construction as a Municipal State Aid project must therefore include certain parking restrictions. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SHAKOPEE, MINNESOTA: That the City of Shakopee shall prohibit the parking of motor vehicles on both sides of Valley View Road, from Evergreen Lane to Sarazin Street.
